Everything you need to close more files

Checklists, underwriting tips, objection handling, and plain-language definitions — built from the files our desk sees every day.

Submission checklist

  • Signed one-page application with owner details
  • 3–4 months of complete business bank statements (all pages)
  • Government photo ID for the majority owner
  • Voided business check
  • Merchant processing statements if the business is card-heavy
  • Note any existing advances, balances, and payment frequency

Underwriting tips

Send full statements

Partial or cropped statements are the single biggest cause of same-day declines. Send every page, including blank ones.

Disclose stacked positions up front

We can still fund second and third position files. What kills a deal is finding an undisclosed position at contract stage.

Flag seasonality

A slow month reads as decline risk unless you tell us it's seasonal. One sentence in the notes changes the read.

Set the merchant's expectation on holdback

Merchants who understand daily or weekly remittance before approval close far faster.

Objection handling

"The factor rate is too high."

Frame the cost against the return: what does the equipment, inventory, or payroll coverage earn in the same window? MCAs are priced for speed and unsecured risk, not compared to a bank line the merchant cannot get today.

"I want to think about it."

Offer the approval with no obligation. Approvals cost nothing and expire — getting terms in hand is the low-risk next step.

"Will this hurt my credit?"

Submitting an application does not affect their personal credit score. We underwrite from bank statements.

"I've been burned by a broker before."

Your transaction stays with the Workable Funding Desk from submission through funding coordination. You have one accountable relationship and one team managing the process.

Position

Buy rate

The base rate at which the funder buys the deal, before the ISO's commission is added.
